Eight locations will open in the US, starting later this year in Phoenix.
The legendary company of video games Atari has announced that it will develop a new hotel chain focused entirely on classic and modern games.
Among the locations chosen are Napoleon Smith III, the producer behind the 2014 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film reboot; will work with Arizona-based real estate developer True North Studio to bring his vision to life in Phoenix later this year.

According to the statement, the objective of these Atari hotels is to merge retro gaming, with entertainment modern immersion, to offer its guests a unique travel destination, focused on gaming.
It is therefore about including modern interactive entertainment driven by Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality in Hotels.
"When creating this new hotel concept, we knew Atari would be the perfect way to give guests the 'nostalgic and retro' look we were looking for." added Napoleon Smith III. "Let's face it, how cool will it be to stay inside an Atari ?!"
Unfortunately, it is not clear at this time what kind of immersive entertainment will be included as part of the Hotel Atari experience.

"Atari hotels will be the first of their kind in the United States, offering gamers of all ages the latest in immersive entertainment and all aspects of gaming," Shelly Murphy said.

The first Atari Hotel is scheduled to open later this year in Phoenix, Arizona, followed by seven more locations in Austin, Chicago, Denver, Las Vegas, San Jose, San Francisco and Seattle.
